Does music really affect Youth?
We are joined here today with Jake and Louis from the successful band ‘The Deviance’, who’re giving there opinion on the whether or not music influences the youth of today. We asked ‘The Deviance’ to come on as, well… it’s the obvious choice, isn’t it? They are seen as The Beatles of their time. Therefore we had to have them, we don’t do small time bands here at SMASH! Our motto being “Go big or go home!”
A colleague and myself were invited to the bands shared holiday home in Miami. As we arrived to the great wooden doors the two members greeted us as they swung the doors open and yelled as they saw us. We were embraced as if we were one of them. After offering us a couple of drinks and food, the interview began…
We began by asking them how’ve they been, y’know the usual, simple question right? That’s what we thought too. Louis Hurst – “How have we been? HOW HAVE WE BEEN… the nerve… we’ve been brilliant.” We thought he was going to lash out at us. Front man Jake, the slightly more mellow of the two, answered seriously, well sort of. “Well as ya know, we’ve been on the road for a while like, ya know what I mean, so we have had fun on the road as always, but this time it was a bit different, it seemed to be less fun, I dunno I’m probably getting old or something. Well anyway I’m making up for it now, we’ve been to a party every day since we got back, you should of seen this sort I pulled last night…” We sharply changed the conversation topic, to avoid any inappropriate description.
